We’re Jasper and Karen, the founders of Pourdad Coffee Cart.

Jasper came to Halifax from the Philippines in 2015 with a barista’s hands and a hospitality worker’s heart. More than a decade working in hotels, restaurants, and cafés shaped not only his technical skill, but also a philosophy: that a well-made cup, handed to the right person at the right moment, can change the shape of someone’s day.

Karen arrived six years later, also from the Philippines, bringing years of financial-sector experience and precision to the operational side of the business. She manages correspondence, logistics, and scheduling, while Jasper focuses on the craft and the cart. Together, we work as a team in the truest sense — one thinking forward, one keeping the ground solid beneath us.

Pourdad Coffee Cart was built around a simple belief: a business should support your life, not consume it. Our son is the north star behind every decision we make — when to book, when to rest, when to say yes, and when to protect what matters most.

We’re proud to call Halifax home. We’re building our future here, serving our community one cup at a time, and pouring everything we have into a city that has given us so much.

“Pourdad” is more than just a name. It reflects who we are — pouring great coffee while building a life around family. It’s about craft, care, and the simple joy of sharing a good cup with people.
